Pat joins Forge Energy with 30 years of industry experience in the operation and engineering of a diverse platform of assets. A proven leader in his field, Pat brings a wealth of knowledge in drilling and completions, well design and production optimization, and development program management. Additionally, Pat is an expert in the latest technology applications as they relate to improved well performance.
Most recently prior to joining Forge Energy, Pat served as a lead completions engineer with Encana Corporation, where he managed teams of engineers to improve the overall economics of developments in the Barnett, Bossier and Haynesville shales by enhancing horizontal well performance and reducing costs. Prior to Encana, Pat spent five years with Halliburton, where his primary focus was the development and implementation of optimized completion programs, including an innovative and successful technique for coiled tubing-drilled wells. Additionally, Pat managed a geomechanical well optimization study and successfully applied the findings to subsea development projects in Asia and New Zealand.
Pat spent the first 20 years of his career with Union Oil Company of California, where he introduced advanced technology in hydraulic fracturing and sand control to business units in the US and Asia. Additionally, he was responsible for development and exploratory drilling programs in California and Asia and was involved in early field tests of advanced measurement-while-drilling systems and PDC bit technology in severe conditions.
Pat received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University in 1981, graduating with high scholarship. He is a Registered Petroleum Engineer in California and Texas.
